I still remember when my husband and I made the important decision in our lives to receive Christ as our Savior. I remember that very special moment and how momentous it has been for my family.

Before receiving Christ, honestly, he was a very religious person and given to the worship of images. Married life was not going well and everything was a drain because of the problems that were always in the home.
Life without Christ is empty and very painful. Problems in marriage are never absent and conflicts with children become more stressful.

Serving images is something very vain, just to put trust in things that have no life, it becomes very pitiful. However, it must be recognized that in the world, we walk blind and without hope.
Thank God, because he gave us the great opportunity to know Christ and begin a family life towards the success of serving Christ.

Serving Christ requires great fidelity. This reminds me of the words that Joshua spoke to the people of Israel once they were already in the promised land:

14 Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in integrity and in truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the river, and in Egypt; and serve the Lord.
15 And if it seems wrong to you to serve the Lord, choose today whom you will serve; if to the gods whom your fathers served, when they were on the other side of the river, or to the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live; but I and my house will serve the Lord. Joshua 24: 14-15 King James Version (KJV)

One of the principles for a successful family in Christ is precisely the fear of God. If parents and children do not develop this principle, there will hardly be a successful family. The family without Christ, as I told you at the beginning of this message, is very problematic and does not have any peace. When God is feared, things change and are done according to God's will and not ours.

Another relevant principle expressed in the quoted biblical portion is "to serve God with integrity." God is served from the heart, which is why it is required to accept Christ as Savior and completely abandon idolatry.

Thank God who allowed both my husband and I to turn away from this world of idolatry to serve Christ.

For the family to be successful, it must first fix its life with God and serve him with a whole heart, always considering his word and teaching it to the children so that they may live continually in fear of God.
