I believe we've all heard of this word, "karma".
It has so many laws regarding it, I think they're about 12. But what comes really comes to mind whenever we hear of this word as mere people? Vengeance!
Anytime we hear of karma, all we think about is the statement, "what goes around comes around". I don't really know about you though but that's what comes to my mind anytime I think of or hear this word.
There have been many instances in our lives as Christians which have made us believe in this karma though it has no christian basis.
There have been other situations where we wished karma would work for us, and deal with those who have treated us badly.
It's normal as a human, (taking christianity aside) to wish for a kind of fair punishment on others who didn't treat us right because we are vindictive or vengeful in nature. And usually, our wishes are granted which makes us wonder whether it's really this "karma" or God.
Many situations have occurred where people got their pay back after cheating on others, after cheating others, killing others, hurting others in all possible ways we can think of. It happens.
Revenge, is it even worth it??
Karma works in so many ways. Those who firmly believe in it don't really worry about when or how it's gonna work on those who deserve it because they know it's gonna happen no matter how long it takes, and this is quite similar to the Christian faith too.
We believe God will deal with those who have wronged us in such ways. It could take years before we feel appeased. Sometimes it seems we didn't get our revenge at all but what I believe is, what goes around always comes around. They might have received their punishments, but we wouldn't know.
And if we've heard about "healed wounds and ugly scars", it makes us understand that, though we can be forgiven for something we did to others or ourselves, the punishment or scars will be evident and always be around.
The point I'm trying to make is, no matter what we believe in, whether Karma or God, there's such a thing as that which exists and no one is really free from it.
And just as the bible says, and also according to this karma laws, it's not just about vengeance or punishment but also rewards.
If you help others, it goes round to reward you and if you hurt others, the opposite happens.
So with this said, we should remember that the things(every thing) we do on this earth come with their own effects, could be positive or negative. And we should never be worried about those who do wrong things to us for they shall also get their reward, whether here on earth or elsewhere.
However, as Christians, I would advise us to lean more on God than anything or anyone. For the bible says,
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. Romans 12:19.
God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”
Romans 2:6
If we have these texts in our hearts(especially, the latter), we will leave everything to the Lord to deal with.
Thanks for reading and I hope you get inspired by this.
God bless us and May He be with us all🌹🙏🏾✌🏽
