I did a little research on the number of university students that have committed suicide, and the findings are amazing. Every month in 2021 alone, more than 3 students commit SUICIDE.
Why?
Academic stress, Financial stress, Emotional Stress, etc.
These are Students who still come out smiling everyday, who do other activities daily, but you don't know they are dying inside.
What students in Nigeria have to pass through daily; especially since post lockdown reopening of schools, is outrageous. Unfortunately, most lecturers rather enjoying belaboring students unnecessarily without actually considering their mental health.

Some have adjusted and are helping students cope mentally by making their classes humorous and their activities less engaging. Academic stress is part of what makes us grow yes, but not when the student has no passion in it. To the student, he just wants to do this thing and pass and go, cos other heavier things have swallowed their passion for school. To some lecturers, they just want to do this thing and cover their scheme, and collect their salary, whether the student understands or not. In fact, in some cases the lecturer tells you to your face that whether you understand or not, he will receive his salary. Let's not talk about what project students pass through in Nigerian Universities.

Moving forward, I personally do not subscribe to the spirit of entitlement, in this case a student looking forward to financial aid from an uncle, relation, etc. I believe in working hard even as a student, to make some money for yourself.
However, I think it is nicer and less emotionally exhausting if an uncle, or relation who understands studentship decides on his own to help a Student. How can you not send someone money when God has blessed you ☺️? It is even difficult to study without feeding well. Please, HELP! Help anyone you see. Even if someone is not related to you, but you feel like helping, help. Some students who are wealthier than others, help as well. Don't let someone die/drop out or run into troubles, because of funds.

To the student, you owe yourself survival. Try as much as possible to SURVIVE!
Financial factors, Emotional factors, Academic, Mental and Social factors have all been there. It's all about good management. Be hopeful we will survive. We will make it. We will finish what we started. You will have food to eat, data to browse and be updated, money to run academic activities and brain that understands. Suicide is not an option. Dropping out is not an option. Talk to someone about things, talk to God first as well. Hustle legitimately, whether uncle or no aunty, whether parents or not. People have survived, you too can!
