The Almighty God has given us the grace to excel in all we do. It's pertinent that we consciously refuse to glorify ourselves for our achievements. All glory should be given to God.

Most times we are caught in the grips of self praise. We think it's self esteem, confidence and courage. My brethren, anything that portrays self as the achiever is a dishonor to the person of Christ. The world has painted vain glory as self esteem and confidence. The quest for these are contrary to the original design of human submission to God.

It's self that drive us to seek recognition, appreciation and arrogance is the result. We seek to glorify ourselves before people. We are earger to be applauded by fellow men. These are vain glory.

In an event of omission, the self get envious, especially when others are recognized instead of us. There's competition and anxieties because self seeks to be glorified by all means.

Today, the Lord says, depart from vain glory. Submit all the achievements to the glory of God. Let all recognition and appreciation be given to Master Jesus. Let self be brought to subjection!

Let's pray together.
Abba Father, thank you for giving us the grace to serve you. Please forgive us for seeking vain glory, recognition and being envious. Help us to submit completely to you, in Jesus name. Amen.
