Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
~Ephesians 4:32
In today's world it is so easy to look the other way when you see someone in need of your assistance. We don't offer any help because we feel that it is not our concern and none of our business. But ask yourself this question. What if it was me sleeping on the streets for nearly half of my life begging for change just to by one square meal per day? You can then act on it and become better as a person.
Selfishness is a toxic plague that is drowning goodness in our communities. The only hope we have to eradicate it is to start uplifting each other the best we can. Sometimes, a smile can just uplift the spirit of a person and make their day. We must therefore cherish the virtue of kindness as our Lord commands us and must uphold each other regardless of people's status.
We have a merciful, kind and ever-forgiving God who continues to open doors for us on this earth. We must emulate His attributes as He has fundamentally created us in his own image. Shed the light He has engrained within you and He will multiply your blessings abundantly.
We must therefore set out on a daily basis to spread goodness knowing that a small act of kindness reaps great rewards for our Lord. We might not see it now, but it surely pays of on this earth as well as the hereafter. This is what God expects from us and this is exactly what it takes to win His favor.
