One great need you have to apply yourself in life is the need to examine yourself daily in the light of your walk with God. This is a daily duty you have to perform in life, if you seek to go far with God. You don’t need to keep “firing” thinking all is well. The Word of God is our mirror, it is the yardstick we have of God for the examination of our walk with Him. It is a daily duty which guarantees a daily delight in our walk with God. This is one duty Apostle Paul engaged himself in, when he proclaimed in 1 Corinthians 15:31 – “I die daily”.
Dying daily is subjecting everything about your life to the dictates and allowances of God’s Word for your life and cutting off any craving that is at variance with the provisions of God’s Word. It is a life of discipline that compels every fiber of your being to adhere to the standard and principles of God’s Word, in spite of the awful yearnings within or the evil enticement around.
In a world with all manner of attractions that look so appealing; you need to stay divinely monitored. You will need to guide your passions and learn to stay focused on God and His allowances for your life. The ease to drift from the provisions of God’s grace abound so much around us and they could be very subtle in their advances.
If you must stay on course with God on the path of righteousness, you will have to learn to stay divinely monitored. This monitoring is on the basis of God’s Word and not merely seeking to conform with what you see in any particular man or woman of God. In an era when the world is becoming “churchy” and the church is becoming worldly; you will need to stay armed with the truth of God’s Word, so you don’t lose your bearing.
Every relationship needs monitoring. The test of every true relationship is the fear of God that exists in it. When the fear of God begins to erode from any relationship you claim for yourself, you will need to caution yourself because of the danger it portends. It doesn’t matter who is involved for you through such a relationship. If the truth of God’s Word begins to diminish and the fear of God begins to fade; steer clear for the enhancement of your well being with God. One may be right today; but he may not always be right. Every relationship needs monitoring and the provisions of God’s Word remain the basis.
