While driving sometimes on a highway, you would always see a road signal that shows Bumps ahead or a sharp bend ahead. Seeing such a sign, a wise person will instantly slow down while a foolish person will keep on driving at high speed. When the danger that should have been prevented happen, everybody will think of such a driver to be foolish. This scenario tells us the case of the people who read the Bible and notice some truths in it that will save their lives but decided not to do what they read.

James 1:21-25 tells us that the word of God is like a mirror that reveals to us what needs to be transformed in our lives. It is a tricky type of foolishness to read or listen to the word of God and not act on it. Some people listen to the word and set on to do something, but they prospon taking action until their set on fades away with time. They are like a man dressed up to go out to work or somewhere who sees in the mirror that the tie he wore is a little too far to the right, but then depart from the front of the mirror without correcting it.

If after some time the man remembers that his tie is a little off to the right and then tries to shift it to the left, the man may adjust it a little to the left. The right thing to do is to do the adjustment while he was still in front of the mirror. If you listen or read any word from God that wants you to make a change in your life, you must do so instantly, because slowing down may be dangerous.

When you have heard a word of God that can transform your life for the better, the enemy knows it, and he instantly springs into action to steal it from you. You must be alert, and your best technique is to act on the word you have heard before he brings hindrance and suggestions that will destroy the fruit that God intends to yield in you. Answer this question to yourself; are you just a hearer of the word or a doer of it?
