It is something to be given authority, and it is something else to exercise the authority designated. Some Christians are suffering today because they don't practice the heavenly authority given to them as children of God. A few children of God are like Moses Exodus 14:10-16, crying vulnerably at the red sea with the multitude of Pharaoh quick drawing closer.
The Israelites also didn't help the situation because they mumbled against his initiative at this vital point. The perfect storm confronted by Moses at the Red Sea caused him to fail to remember who he was and the gigantic power of God had vested in him.
Sadly, either Moses failed to remember this or his mind couldn't grasp the degree of its meaning. Albeit crying to God isn't wrong by itself there is the ideal opportunity for everything. This was not the time for Moses to cry; rather, it was a time for him to use his God-given authority
Nevertheless, God in his mercy reminded Moses that the authority to deal with the circumstance was at that point available to him.
