Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Most of the times we feel God is far from us, maybe due to the mistakes we have made or for the instructions we have failed to heed to. Often times that gentle still voice of the Holy Spirit we ignore it and feel God is far from us. The truth is, God is not far from us, He is closer to us even more than out bones.

This interesting story came to mind as I was about writing this. The story of a man who was walking on the beach with God. While walking and talking with God, he saw 4 footprints as they were walking but suddenly the ocean roared, the sea broke off and everything started happening at once. He looked back and could only see 2 footprints. He felt neglected thinking God abandoned him in the storm just when he thought God was walking with him.

He was heartbroken and questioned God why he left him to face it all alone to which God responded, 'Those 2 footprints you saw were mine, not yours. When that trouble came rushing down on you, I carried you'. Most of the time we feel we are all alone when we are going through situations of life. We feel God abandoned us forgetting He has indeed made a way of escape for us. The One that fashioned the earth, do you think anything can catch Him by surprise?

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

God has not left you and because you felt He was silent doesn't mean He isn't working in your favour. Be still and know that He is God. Over that situation He wants to exalted and because of this single truth, you can be sure that you will be victorious.

Most people don't like to question God. To question Him depends on how you see it. God said He has all the answers, so if He has all the answers, don't you think He wants us to ask questions? The man that question God regarding walking alone got his answer. See the questioning of God as a way of challenging Him to come through which is why when we go through situations that are contrary to the promises in the Bible, we ask questions. God wants us to trust Him and ask questions. The Holy Spirit is readily there to give us insight into the deep things of God. Ask God questions but never lose that faith in Him. Tell Him if you feel He is far from you but I tell you today that God is closer to you than you think. His investment on you is priceless and He can't afford it to go to waste. He has vested interest in you and He is making a way of escape for you so you can come out as gold.

Trust Him.

"Oh...my God did not fail. Oh...it's the story I'll tell. Oh...I know it is well. Oh...it's the story I'll tell"
