Recently, I came across a naija song titled " important" by 2baba, one of the lines got me thinking.... He sang in Pidgin English “Be careful because if you no use person, person go use you” meaning; be careful in life due to the cunny behavior of people, if you don't use someone, someone will use you.WP
God created humans beings to be loved and things to be used, but unfortunately, we are looking at the irony today. The love of materialism or things has super passed that of humans and in turn, humans are being seen as object to be used or likely to be used.
1 John 4:12 says: if we love one another, God abideth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
In my little years spent on earth, I have seen young people abuse relationships. I have seen people try to emotionally or physically abuse people even when they had good intentions and meant them all good...
Its easy to love our wives, husbands, children, dad, mom, siblings and nearby extended family cause it come naturally while to some, as a responsibility. But how do we show the ugly, the fat, the barren, the disadvantage, or those who can't do us anything in return Gods genuine love.
My heart smiles each time I read through Romans 8:38-39 It says "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
This scripture cleanses my mind of any worthlessness, and self pity that tries to crawl in. God laid down his examples on what love is... That even in my imperfection and mistakes, his love still Wax strong for me.
God said in Ephesians 4:2, "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."
As Christians we should learn to treat people with love and respect.
- By first deciding the system will not control us.
We will treat people the way we want to be treated and the way God wants us to treat them and not the world's way. - Talk less and listen more...
- Give Or share no matter how little.
- Show kindness.
- Show empathy.
