As I sit still in the room, my mind wanders to how we just all want to "meet up".
The society wants something, and we feel we have no choice but to give it what it wants.
We get up and rush out without having an inkling of where we are going.
Everyone is doing it, so why not just join the train?
We want a certain body shape, certain height, complexion and social stature; not because that is our truest dream or desire but so we can be accepted by the society.
But who set these standards anyway?
By what should we measure our progress or ability?
-This "thing" society wants, is it not leading to unhealthy competition and living?
Because it is a wonder, that a young person who is very confident starts behaving cowardly because he is faced with a society who demands from him what he is not. A society that does not appreciate his uniqueness.
A society that needs one thing today; the next it demands a different thing altogether.
It is okay to aim for more, be healthy and shed a little weight here and there. To have that dream house and life.
But what is not okay is if you are doing it because everyone's doing it. Because they would see you as successful by their standard and not yours.
However, what the society wants is not important. What is important is your purpose, your journey, your destiny and doing what God put you on earth to do, that is what is important.
Now, whatever you are doing, so long as it is in line with fulfilling purpose, you keep at it.
You do not let the craze of the society steer you away from the course you are on or make you think you are doing less.
Do not let the "rush" get to you.
“….. doing what God put you on earth to do, that is what is important.”
I could feel your heart in writing this article. Let’s hope that this generation would eventually turn to God.
