TOPIC: CHRIST JESUS IS THE ONLY LIGHT AND THE WAY TO SALVATION.
SCRIPTURE: Matt 1:21, Acts 4:10-12
Exposition
Salvation is from the Greek word “soter”.
‘Soteria’ means the ability to rescue us from sin or the power of sin.
Every man in this earth needs salvation. A person born of MAN has a sinful nature in him ((Romans 3:23), from the beginning of creation is where man failed or disobeyed God. When we talk about salvation it includes the total word of God to rescue man. Man cannot save himself but it is only the word of God. One may ask what the word of God is; the word of God is Jesus Christ (John 1:1-3).
NB: Anyone who is lost thinks every road leads to destination. NB: Those who are lost are those without Christ.
Scripture that describes that Jesus Christ is the Messiah.
First: what is the meaning of Messiah?
Messiah means a leader regarded as the saviour of a particular country, group etc.
Scriptures: John 14:6, John 10:9, 1:1, John 1:4, John 3:16 (this is where God confirmed that Jesus is the truly son)
The Hebrew word of Messiah is ‘Mashach’ meaning the anointed one with oil or the one anointed with oil. The custom of anointing with oil ritual act designed to evaluate those designed for priestly, royal or sometimes even prophetic. So in Judaism, messiah is a significant figure, with the characteristics of a priest and king who will change the world order in accordance with the will of God. Isaiah 11:6-9, Prophet [John 1:19-21].
Sometimes some religion believes that Jesus Christ is the son of God but the fail to admit the Judgment.
How one can be saved.
The following scriptures are guidelines that one needs to follow before he can be saved:
Acts 2:37-39, Acts 16:30-31, Romans 10:9-10.
NB: Salvation doesnot begins at Repentance.
