"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."

(9): "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."

The idle mind is said to be the devil's workshop. This is why it is important that we engage our minds at all times meditating on God's Word and on things that are worthy and acceptable in the sight of God and man.

Today, our youths and young adults, and even some of the elderly, are busy engaging themselves in all kinds of vices: internet scams, armed robberies, kidnappings, rapes, banditry, all kinds of criminal activities, etc because of bad influences. The moment they see what their peers do and begin to meditate on them, the tendency is for them to put to practice what they have seen, and have been meditating on. The Bible says as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7).

In Joshua 1:8-9, the Lord told us to study and meditate on His Word day and night, for only then can we make our way prosperous and have good success. The moment you are deeply rooted in God's Word, you will no longer live in fear, because the Word of God in you is quick, sharp and powerful, it has the ability to create life, and to pull down strong holds.

You can only make your ways prosperous and have good success when you have God's Word dwelling in you richly.

The Bible further admonishes us thus: Philippians 4:8 KJV
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

Rather than fill your heart with immoral thoughts, criminal thoughts, vengeful thoughts, fearful thoughts, suicidal thoughts, wicked thoughts, evil and all kinds of worldly thoughts that can lead to your untimely death, fill your heart with the knowledge of God's Word, and things that are worthy and acceptable in His sight.

When we study, meditate on God's Word, and fill our thought process with the good things of life, the devil will have no place in our lives to occupy.

The Word of God is God Himself, and has life and solutions to every of our needs (John 1:1-2). Study and meditate on it day and night, and you can be sure that your life will not be the same again.
