Good morning Beloved Brethren and welcome to my blog.
Today I will be reflecting on the above topic which came to me while observing my morning devotion.
Truly when the scripture says that "My people perish for lack of wisdom/understanding", it never really make meaning to me like today. The fact is that too many Christians have fallen prey in the wrong hands, all in the name of Prophecies and Deliverance and Miracles. Too many have lost their hard earn money, properties, Salvation and worst their lives, all in the quest to search for Miracles, Signs and Wonders.
Jesus Himself came as a Prophet, a Deliverer and a Messiah in the volume of books, yet His own knew him not, but rather sort for Miracles, Signs and Wonders as such was what they needed, rather than the Word of God. The disciples too struggle to share the gospel to the people after Christ resurrection, yet they were bent on getting miracles.
Note however that, if as a Christian you're not studious, you will easily fall for the dubious prophets with fake miracles that will entice you. These are the same Prophets that the Bible have already warned us about as the sign of the end time. In Acts ch. 13 vs 6 -12,
Acts 13:6-12 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus:
Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,
And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

there is a story that reveals the confrontation between Apostle Paul and Elymas the sorcerer, whose intention was to turn the heart of the deputy away from the faith.
False prophets/preachers are not in any way interested in one's spiritual growth, they are rather concern about capturing someone's heart and manipulating it to their own advantage. Satan too passes through these people to carry out his plot which is more effective in the church when he comes. He doesn't show up like an open enemy but as false friend and they can turn you away from faith just as Elymas intended to do to the deputy.
Hence, there is need for Christians to stay awake, study the Bible, Watch and Pray, resisting the devil and he will flee from us.
In summarily, I urge believers to stay hooked to the Bible and glued to the word of God if they must overcome the tricks of the devil, who roars like a lion seeking whom to devour.
Thank you for reading my blog.
The role of being studious Christians cannot be over emphasized. Jesus said "take heed least the devil should entice you". Keep up the work, you're not doing bad.
