SANCTIFICATION
But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:11).
To be sanctified means to be set apart or made holy. The first sanctification happened in your spirit when you became born again. Your spirit is set apart for God,the next thing God is demanding is the mind. Sanctification is therefore a process of separation unto God by the Holy Spirit to regenerate the spirit man and renew the mind.
The Word cleanses and the Holy Spirit sanctifies you through the renewing of the spirit of the mind. Righteousness is a state of the believer with God by sanctification. This is what makes you practically live right and do right. This is the position of true righteousness and holiness. This is the work of the Holy Spirit through the Word to help us live out the righteous nature we've received in Christ.
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.” (Titus 3:5). The more you engage the Spirit and Word, the more sanctified your mind becomes. A sanctified mind is a sanctified life. Hallelujah!
DECREE
My life and ways are sanctified of the Lord. I'm separated unto God for his glory. Amen.
