- “And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled
- in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight—
- if indeed you CONTINUE in the FAITH, GROUNDED and STEADFAST, and are NOT MOVED away from the HOPE of the GOSPEL which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.”
Colossians 1:21-23 (NKJV)
• We are reconciled to God through Jesus’ death, that we might be presented holy, blameless, and above reproach in the sight of God (Colossians 1:21,22; 2 Corinthians 5:18).
– This will happen if indeed we continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which we have heard (Colossians 1:23).
• The blessings of God are conditional!
- For a believer to be presented holy, blameless, and above reproach before God: such has to continue in the faith, believe the truth and stand firm in it. In other words, such should be grounded and steadfast in the truth, and should not move away, drift away, from the hope of the gospel.
- You, as a Christian, have a responsibility to continue in the truth that you know.
- “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently OBEY the VOICE of the LORD your God, to OBSERVE carefully all His COMMANDMENTS which I command you today, that the Lord your God will SET you HIGH above all NATIONS of the earth.
- And all these BLESSINGS shall COME upon you and OVERTAKE you, because you OBEY the VOICE of the LORD your GOD.
- “But it shall come to pass, if you DO NOT OBEY the voice of the LORD your GOD, to OBSERVE carefully all His COMMANDMENTS and His STATUTES which I command you today, that all these CURSES will COME upon you and OVERTAKE you.”
Deuteronomy 28:1,2,15 (NKJV)
• Your relationship with God can only be intact, unshaken, if your interest in Him and His kingdom is firm and unfaded.
“You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.”
John 15:14 (NKJV)
- For your friendship with Him to be close, cordial, and lasting, you have to do whatever He commands you.
• Two cannot walk together unless they are agreed (Amos 3:3).
- For you to walk together with God, you must agree with Him, obey the instructions He gives in His Word—the Bible.
- For you to be presented holy and blameless on the last Day: it is premised on the fact that you continue in the truth you know—you keep walking in the light of his Word.
- “He who says, “I KNOW HIM,” and does not keep His COMMANDMENTS, is a LIAR, and the TRUTH is NOT in HIM.
- But whoever KEEPS His WORD, truly the LOVE of GOD is PERFECTED in HIM. By THIS we KNOW that we are in HIM.”
1 John 2:4,5 (NKJV)
• You will not fail in Jesus’ name.
Peace!
