Sometimes, we as Christians become so familiar with a passage of the Bible that we lose the importance of the truths that are stored in it by the Holy Spirit. The first truth of the Holy Ghost is the relaying to our spirit through this passage today is that this statement is a direct command. In this scripture, the Lord is commanding us to arise! It is someone who is either sitting or on the floor that would be instructed to arise.
So, when the Almighty God says “Arise”, it actually means that you are either sitting down doing nothing or that you are on a bed enjoying the sleep of death. In addition, we aren't instructed to arise into darkness; rather, we are commanded to arise and shine because the glory of God is upon us. ARISE AND SHINE
Another truth worthy of note in Isaiah 60:1: the Lord is announcing that your light has come. Hitherto, God didn't command you to arise and shine because there was nothing to help your shinning; but now, the Lord is announcing that your light has come. Here is the wonderful revelation we must not permit to escape from us: the Holy Ghost in Isaiah 60:1 announced that “Thy light is come.” Some of us might have a lot of questions in our mind, “What is the light?” Maybe we are not asking the right question, the question shouldn't be what, but Who is the light? John 8:12 let us know that Jesus is the light.
For sure there is a lot of darkness in this world; most of us had experienced this fact. The darkness we are talking about isn't when we don't have the physical light. We are actually talking about spiritual darkness, the ruler of darkness in this world. There are some important questions to answer yourself: Are you still in darkness? Why have you not experienced the light? It may be because you haven't accepted the Light which is Jesus Christ, accept Jesus, the Light, into your life today, and darkness will no longer overcome you, and so will be unstoppable for the enemies.
