There are a lot of so-called praise songs that are not giving glory to the beauty of the Lord's holiness and are thus unacceptable to the Lord. The sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving can yield tremendous prosperity, according to 2 Corinthians 9:11.
Let us look at prosperity via the sacrifice of thanksgiving. We as Christians need to understand that the Almighty God has many ways by which He can do whatsoever He says He will. We shouldn't squander our time in trying to pre-empt the Lord or dictating to Him how our blessings or success should come. We are to ask the Lord what we need with thanksgiving.
When the war against the Israelites raged in 2 Chronicles 20:1-37, King Jehoshaphat just obeyed the word of the Almighty God by appointing choristers to sing unto the Lord. Who would have thought that those people in the attacking countries would go to battle with a lot of precious jewels and expensive clothes?.
The Lord had purposed to bless the children of Israel because He knew from the onset that they would praise Him and He had to compensate them for praising Him!. Another lesson important we must learn from this story is that our praise and worship must be inspired by the Holy Ghost. Some of the songs that we called songs of praise are from our flesh, not the Spirit.
When we give the Lord in-depth praise and worship, He will reciprocate by showering us with blessings but if we decided not to praise Him, He would also deny us His prosperity. In John 6:11-13, the Lord Jesus gave thanks upon five loaves and two fishes; the response of His Father was marvelous because five thousand men were fed.
A lot of us are ingrate. I want to encourage us to cultivate the habit of giving the Lord worthy praise and thanksgiving and He will bless us with tremendous prosperity.
