Good evening brethren, how are you all doing today? I trust God that you had a great day at work today. Ask me, I had a stressful day cause I had to cover up for a teacher who has just put to bed on the mother's day.
This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. Deut. 30:19 NIV.
Today, I just just have the need to remind us that we are still mortals, hence, two things would be inevitable to us; i.e rapture or death. Whtasoever of the two befall us, we must ensure that we make adequate preparations least we should see ourselves where we did not hope for nor merit as the case may be in some occassion.
Sequal to the above, life is a journey, and we will have to end it somewhere someday. Just like every road in the world would lead to a place, the life of everyman (mortal) both good and bad will end somewhere. It is often said that a wise man decides where he wants to go to before he embarks on on a journey, he then enter the road that will lead him to the desire destination. That shows that he has plans and knows where exactly he is going and the route to take.
This makes me remember what had happened some years back when I was serving my father land as a youth corp member. I remember when I returned from church, I decided to take a cyclist back to thee copers' lodge where I stayed. Unknown to me that there are many routes to the lodge, I started asking the bike lots of security questions cause I was not sure of the road he was taking. I had to be cautious with the way I asked the questions leaset I should give mysekf out to be duobed.
Nevertheless, the bike man assured me that he was taking me through the village road because he did not want to use the express road. So I asked myself, what if this is what we Christians are going through in our Christian journey? Believe me there were just a ton of questions that I had to ask and each of the questions was a sober reflection to me.
Hence, at the end of the day, I had learnt that we Christians are heading somewhere, as such we must not allow unbelievers like the driver I had picked home to mislead me through the shortcut routes. There is no short cut to success or living a life as a Christian. Thus, my prayer is that we shall not miss heaven for anything in Jesus name, amen.
The scripture says in 1 John 5: 11-12 11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
I pray for you, you will not be found wanting on the last day in Jesus name, amen.
