GREAT SPIRITUAL LEADERS
Text: “Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.” Num 12:3
Let’s look at the characteristics of great leaders. This will help us to closely examine our lives and give us the right perspective of what it means to be a leader.
They have a genuine concern for others. They are not self-serving but people oriented. Apostle Paul said “I will be glad to spend all I have, and myself as well, in order to help you…”GNT 2 Cor 12:15.
Great leaders are great examples for others to follow. They are people who walk their talk. They don’t just lead with their words but by their examples. Leading by example gives us the moral authority required to lead others.
Great leaders are not working for a personal agenda; but for a common goal. This is not about “what I get” but “what we get.”
Great leaders are quick to forgive. They have a large heart to accommodate the mistakes of others. Working with other people is an adventure that will require that we forgive. They are firm but forgiving.
Great leaders place right value on people. They see people the same way God sees them. They don’t look down on others; this is why people look up to them. God does not abuse people he raises them. God does not reduce people he elevates them. God does not dump people he lifts them up.
Great spiritual leaders attract people to God and not necessarily to themselves. A spiritual leader’s success is best measured by how much they help others to know God.
Great leaders don’t work with a competitive spirit but gives room for others to express themselves and to work as a team.
One major hallmark of great leaders is that they have a great passion to learn. You can’t lead beyond your knowledge base. Effective leaders lead from a reservoir of knowledge.
CONFESION:
I see value in everyone that God brings my way. I see possibilities in everyone that God brings my way.
