1.1KVA solar inverter successfully installed!

in hive-108686 •  4 months ago

Few days ago, a young man of his early twenties came into my shop to make enquiry about solar. He told me that the advert on radio about Steem solar & electricals was almost taking half of his radio listerning program. The result...? I just installed a 1.1KVA solar inverter for him yesterday in his apartment!

The cost of buying petrol every single day is getting out of hand and somehow not bearable to most electricity frequent users.

One of such person is Wisdom from Uyo who does online business, he is also a developer.

He mentioned how much he spent on petrol every day and every week for a year.It was too much, but today, he spent huge amount of money that would sustain him for years.

After receiving some suggestions from me and the cost, he decided to go for a 1.1kva solar inverter. He has intention of adding more panels and even doubling the battery to 2.

But for a start, he decided to go for what is within his budget, which was 2 panels (200W), 1 battery (220Ah Tubular). I used 60A PWM charge controller for this system with reasons.

PWM would be very good in terms of optimizing charging efficiency and reducing energy loss and even heat generation which most times, damage systems. There are actually a whole lot of benefits.

After payment, I started shifting the solar and it's peripherals to the site.

I got to the site after 30 mins of driving. The site is not very far from my shop. But it's a little bit outskirt of the Uyo city.

Don't mind the noodle's carton written "Mimee" 😅, that's where my tools are packed 😅, I would buy a better tool box 🧰 soon. It's about one hundred and seventy thousand naira (#170,000) which is equivalent to 577 Steem. I am looking at getting "Inko" or "Bosch" product. Those are strong products used here...., however, there are others. Maybe, anytime I got one, I would write about it here on Steem. That tool is very important to me.

I started my installation by checking the open circuit voltage (VOC) which gives me 36.1V, that's normal. For an estimate... add like 80% to that voltage value.

However, for those who are learning here in this community, I need to point it out that this value can vary due to temeperature condition or atmospheric factor....it all depends. So when you see it vary from the number, I mentioned above, don't panic.

After fixing that on the roof, I proceeded to install the charge controller, inverter and the battery.

Everything was all working well. I connected the battery to the charge controller first before linking the panels wire.

I like stressing this part always, because I have witness a certain damage in a system before.... (are there students here..? I expect some questions at this point)🙂

Well, the installation was successfully made and the system operates very well. I checked the voltage at maximum power (VPM) and it was okay....

I have given him some instructions on how to use his system properly.

In two weeks time, he would add two more panels to make it 4 altogether, and that would be complete for a proper charge.

He was very happy at my services and my installation price was friendly. He promised to introduce me to other clients in the coming weeks...

I love the way this game is going and I'm grateful.

This is the first installation I have done after opening my shop. Maybe there are other ones piling up...!

Many people have come for enquiries, I hope they turn up later for the real deal.

I want to use this opportunity to apologize to all the friends who messaged me on Discord and I didn't respond on time. I was on a very busy mode, but I am glad, I was able to respond to all your messages before I slept last night.

Do you intend installing solar in your house? Please do well to contact me especially if you are from Nigeria.

We love the sun 🌞!

Have a lovely day ahead and drink much water....

Dear Sir,
I am inspired by your hard work in taking forward the solar project. From your pictures it looks like you work very hard with solar. I have read your 1.1 KVA solar inverter setup and have some questions which I would like to learn from you.

How many watt panels can be used for 1.1 KVA solar inverter?

How long will it take to fully charge your 220 AH battery with this solar panel?

You get 36.1 voltage from the panel but what is the standard voltage of the panels?

You have used 60 A PWM as charger controller. PWM charger controllers are best for 200 to 250 watt solar panels. MPPT charger controller costs more.

Sir, I asked you the questions to increase my own knowledge. If you make a mistake in asking a question, you will look at it with a look of forgiveness. Good luck to you.
