Learning lessons From the birds

What is the message and values expressed in the film.

The message in this short bird film is simple and to the poin, "Do not discriminate" against others. We should guide against collective discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, political affiliation or religion.

Do you think it has a moral?

Yes the short video has very strong moral values to teach. The birds that discriminated against the obviously different birds were not really united, they had factions among themselves. As you can see them struggling with each other at the beginning of the video.

This birds formed a "cross-cutting cleavage." Made up of people with different opposing agenders that are united on a specific agender.
The birds had their own deffrences but when it came to discriminating against the long neck bird, they kept their differences aside and attacked the long neck bird together.
Discrimination is so perversive that people with conflicting agender can unite in discriminating against a specific group.

Do you think it leaves any lessons?

Discrimination can have backfire effect on us. The birds who tried to hut the long neck birds got the bitter test of their medicine when their plot backfired on them, resulting in the long neck bird feeling sorry for them.

In Nigeria we call it 'back to sender'. They got cought by their own traps.

Do you know someone who has had a similar case happen to them in real life, tell us!

When I was still in school, one of my lectures tried to fail me by giving me poor scores on his subject, it backfired on him when another lecture was asked to re access my scripts and it was concluded that he was not competent enough to understand what I submitted to him.
He was discriminating and favouring students who come from his area. Discrimination can make us look very unprofessional in their work
