It was a cold morning and the 2nd class train compartment was crowded with passengers. A man with a large mustache snored loudly in the corner of the seat. From time to time, his head fell into a woman, who sat next to him, wearing a big hat that could block out the sunlight for three people. “Excuse me, Sir,” she said moving his head away with her umbrella. At the last attempt, the man awoke, still half asleep “Where are we now? Did we go to Paris?
“This train does not even go to Paris”, someone in the compartment shouted. The whole compartment let out a loud laugh.
A group of people in the next compartment were having a lively conversation. They shared a cookie box around the compartment while talking. Every time it got to the man wearing spectacles, it was empty. “Why is that empty every time it reaches me?" he shouted, crying. "It is because you are not fortunate enough to eat them." A woman in front of him teased him. She teased him showing her cookies proudly. Everyone burst into laughter. The tears ran down their cheeks.
When the night started the bulb in the train dimmed. The conductor walked into the compartment holding a lantern. “Now time for bed everyone,” he said, but nobody wanted to sleep.
"Tell us a story!" shouted a little boy.
“All right” the conductor responded. “Once upon a time, a ghost climbed this train. But he could not sit down, because he didn’t have a ticket.
"Then what happened?" the lad asked with wide eyes.
“The ghost borrowed a hat from a lady near him, wore a dark glass, and sat in a seat on second class compartment pretending to be a human. He might still be here”, he whispered.
Suddenly the man with a mustache shouted, “It is not me; I swear!”. Hearing that, everyone laughed so loudly, if there was a ghost, he would also laugh.
The journey was filled with loveable jokes and laughs; they didn't know that time was passing. They had a great time giggling that night.
By the time the train stopped at the station, everyone was still laughing. Nobody remembered where they were heading, but everyone agreed it was the best train ride ever.
