Greetings to all lovers of art and creative writing. I hope you had a very happy Christmas with your loved ones. In this 126th edition, I bring you as a guest Florent Marie Willems, better known as Florent Willems:

This outstanding painter was born in Liège (Belgium) on January 8, 1823. From a young age he showed a strong inclination towards painting. He frequently attended the Academy of Malines. When he was 17 years old he held his first art exhibition, which was very successful. He was hired in a Brussels gallery as a restorer. He traveled to Paris in 1844 to expand his knowledge of art; and there he established himself as a painter.

He showed special interest in Dutch painters of the 17th century.

His artistic style was characterized by depicting genre scenes in a detailed and realistic manner.

He died on October 23, 1905 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France.

Here are three of his works so that you can choose the one you like the most to write about. The first is titled The Important Response (1850), the second, The Proposal (1850-1888) and the third Portrait of a Woman (1870).
