Living long and prospering - lightpainting in my kitchen in the darksteemCreated with Sketch.

Making a zoom pull appear inside my hand involves way too many light stands in my kitchen but it's quite nice to nail it first attempt.

For this shot I exposed for the circuit board on Tripod 1 and Lens 1 for 3 seconds then zoomed in to create the zoom pull effect:

I then replaced the lens cap without ending the exposure. I swapped lenses in complete darkness and swapped tripods to a pre-arranged lightbox. Remove the lens cap and expose for my hand for 2 seconds (In this case I've shown the test shot):

Once happy with the test shots, I combined the two elements in one photographic exposure.

I've been calling these kinds of shots, "SOOK" as in straight outta the kitchen because they literally were created in my kitchen. I still feel compelled to say that this shot was created in one photographic exposure and is not a Photoshop creation.

About me: I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to create art.
