This was the 59th week of our post promotions for STEM Saturday on the Steem blockchain, and our little community now occupies the top of the /promoted page for the 59th consecutive Saturday. This week, I promoted two Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) posts by two authors.
If you are a STEM enthusiast, please consider following the authors that you'll find in this article and also consider joining our community. If you would like your own post to be considered for STEM Saturday post promotion, please see the guidelines at the end of this post.
This week's promotions included the following posts (in alphabetical order, by author). Each author has been set as a 10% beneficiary on this post. All posts were passed through at least three different online plagiarism checks and three different checks for AI detection.

@jorgebgt | About to explode in a supernova |
The 8 million year old star, Betelgeuse entered its red super-giant phase about 40,000 years ago. According to physicists, this means that it will soon explode into its supernova phase.
If that happens, we would be alerted to the explosion by detection of neutrinos and gravitational waves. Next, there would be a spectacular visible flash and sustained brightening that would only last for about five minutes. Following that, the star would gradually increase in brightness again, surpassing the planet, Venus, after about an hour and reaching maximum brightness in two weeks, when it would be brighter than any object in the sky - except for the Sun. During this phase, the star will be visible during day and night.
After about three months, the star's brightness would start fading, and it would become invisible to the eye over the course of a year or more.
A YouTube stream has been monitoring the star since April.

@sarahjay1 | Mars Ingenuity made contact with Earth after two months of silence |
Initially planned for just five flights, the Ingenuity is the first aircraft to make a controlled flight in another planet's atmosphere. After achieving its planned five flights, however, NASA was able to continue using it for additional missions.
On April 26, during the helicopter's 52nd flight, the craft loss communication with NASA because it's communication signal was blocked by a hill. After 63 days of radio silence, communications were restored on June 28, at which time the drone was able to confirm the successful completion of its 52nd flight.
@sarahjay1 previously wrote about Ingenuity in Ingenuity successfully tested its blades in Mars, Ingenuity flew during 80 seconds on Mars, NASA decided to extend the operation of Ingenuity to more flights, NASA has extended the research program of Ingenuity for an indefinite period, NASA's Ingenuity survived its first winter on Mars, and Marscopter Ingenuity breaks a new speed record on Mars (along with many posts that document the Marscopter's experiences on Mars). As she described in The Ingenuity drone restored contact with the Earth after a blackout, this isn't the first time that NASA lost and regained contact with the aircraft.

About STEM Saturday
If members would like to have your own STEM content considered for future promotions, please come join us and start contributing. I don't know how long I'll be continuing the tradition, but while I do, here are the minimum requirements for consideration (subject to change without notice ;-).
- Original, plagiarism-free content
- Minimum word count: currently 300 words, but this may be adjusted.
- The content must not be cross-posted on other web sites or blockchains. Correct use of the #steemexclusive tag is encouraged.
- English language. (sorry, it's the only one I know)
- Because a post leaves /promoted at payout time, posts created shortly before STEM Saturday may be more likely to be chosen than older posts.
All community members are invited to create original and exclusive content that can be considered for future promotions.
Please help grow the science & technology audience on the Steem blockchain by following the Science and Technology on the Social Blockchain Facebook page then liking & sharing our links!
