Apple founder Steve Wozniak teamed up with Alex Fielding, CEO of robotics company Ripcord, to create the private space company Privateer Space.
So far, the only thing we know about the company is that “it will not be like the others”.
In the 2000s, several billionaires from other industries became interested in space.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos created Blue Origin in 2000, and Virgin Group founder Richard Branson founded Virgin Galactic in 2004.
Both companies wanted to launch people and scientific experiments into suborbital space and have achieved some success.
Elon Musk also has a space company, who began his journey to the top of the list of the richest people in the world with Zip2 and PayPal.
Now the American entrepreneur and one of the founders of Apple, Steve Wozniak announced the creation of the private space company: Privateer Space on September 13.
He did not disclose any details about it and only noted that it would be “not like the others.”
Privateer was co-founded by Alex Fielding, creator and CEO of the robotics company Ripcord.
The video about the new space company is a cut of frames from the history of space exploration, as well as a video from the climate march.
Gizmodo assumes that the Privateer will deal with space debris. The announcement says “this is not a race or a competition”.
