The private Russian space company Success Rockets has unveiled the concept of the Stalker light-class two-stage orbital launch vehicle under development.
The system is expected to be capable of launching satellites weighing up to 700 kilograms into low Earth orbit, and the first launch will take place in 2024.
Success Rockets was founded in 2020 and positions itself as a developer of ultra-light launch vehicles, space tugs and small spacecraft, as well as data analysis from near-Earth satellites.
In addition, the company intends to build its own spaceport with two launch pads.
Last December, Success Rockets conducted the first test launch of its Nebo-25 single-stage suborbital rocket from the Kapustin Yar test site in Astrakhan, Russia.
The rocket reached a height of 7 kilometers, after which the emergency rescue system worked, there were femtosatellites on board.
On April 11, 2022, Success Rockets presented the concept of its light-class two-stage Stalker orbital launch vehicle
The rocket is designed to launch satellites weighing up to 700 kilograms into low-Earth orbit with an altitude of up to 700 kilometers.
The rocket will be 33 meters long, 2.2 meters in diameter, and have a launch weight of 83.5 tons. There are two options for the head fairing - with a diameter of 2.2 and 3.2 meters.
It is assumed that the fairing and part of the rocket body will be made of carbon composite, and both stages will be equipped with LE11 liquid rocket engines being developed by the company, which should be powered by a kerosene-oxygen fuel pair.
Nine engines will equip the first stage of the rocket and one, the second.
The company promises that the rocket's first stage and engines can be reused. The first launch of the Stalker is scheduled for 2024.
