Hello to all lovers of art, videogames!!! and Of those who still enjoy playing Among Us ^_^

It's been about 2 weeks since classes resumed at my job, and I'm happy with that ^_^, in fact, I'm somewhat disorganized with it, for explaining how to draw in a more dynamic way without planning, looking for both new students and the old (who are in the same group) don't get bored, and they gave me the plasticine classes which at the moment I only have a single small student to whom I have to adapt at her pace so that she can learn correctly, I hope that Over time, more students continue to enroll, so that we can start building great sculptures.

Returning to the story about this post, which is related to the vacation plan that was made at my work, which for my classes was a total stressful disaster because of the budget, before it started I gave him the list of materials that me and each student was going to need for the entire course, and my boss had the great idea (note the sarcasm) that the academy would put the materials, so when I get to my first class of the vacation plan, I discover that I have 10 packages of 12-color school playdough, each stick measuring 8cm x 1.5cm and I have to share with 30 children and they must pay for me to use and explain the class that lasts an hour... it was a total disaster. First of all, I said that for a short time the class should be divided into 2 groups, but something happened with a teacher which had the consequence that the 2 groups were combined into one, and what I told them happened, that many would be constantly asking if they were doing it right, and that would slow down the pace and in an hour they wouldn't be able to explain everything and they wouldn't complete the sculpture, and said and done the whole class left only explaining the wire structure with aluminum, and luckily because when I started to take out the portions of plasticine that each child was going to use, the floor of the sculpture, which would be gray in color, was only enough for 7 children, taking into account that each child wanted to be his crew member (I think that's what they say to the characters in that game) of their favorite color the material would not be enough for half of the class, I finished the hour and no child could use the plasticine they were all disappointed, so that the children would not feel bad one of my classmates The worker who is there supporting me to control the children, quickly told them that I would make all the sculptures for them and I would bring them tomorrow, the children were happy and in my head I said: WHAT!!!.

They all lined up to write down their name and the color of their Among Us figure, she thought fast to calm the children down and quickly uploaded their amino, deep down I wanted to kill her for the commitment she gave me and the ridiculous deadline time he gave me, but I understand the reasons why he did it, so in the end the 2 of us were victims of this disaster, I ended up arriving at my house at 4:00 p.m. and I got to order all those small sculptures T_T.

The figure of the Among Us are very simple and easy to remember, that may be part of their success as a franchise and that everyone wants to merchandise, but when working on sculpture it is never good to use memory to work, you need the visual reference of How will the figure that should be made be?

To manufacture 30 figures of Among Us

The sculpture that I originally made to know how to explain it ended up being 7.2 cm tall, which seemed to me the right size to be easy for children to work with, and the height to play comfortably with it. But because of the situation I was in and the amount of plasticine I had to use, I reduced the height of each figure to 5.5 cm, in other words, I had to undo all the wire structures with aluminum that the children made, which which was indicated because many did not know how to do it and somehow it was bigger, which would need more plasticine in some of them.

After straightening each of the wires, the first thing to do is the structure of the wire, bend a part of the end of the wire in 90°, then using 3 fingers of my hand as a mold ruler I bend the center of the wire to have the height of the figure, and the other end is also bent at 90°

IMG_20220804_200425.jpg

At each end of the wire, I bend it in a curved way towards the interior of the figure, until it can stand up on its own, with the first one ready I had to repeat the same thing 29 times, at this point they were already like the 7:00 p.m.

IMG_20220804_200724.jpg

It is time to complete the structure by adding the aluminum foil, which I also had to recycle from what the children did (they have no idea how much time I wasted unfolding each piece of crumpled aluminum foil) here with small pieces of foil I cover half top until it is shaped like an egg.

After repeating everything 29 times more, it is time to make the base of the floor, to really render the material, because it had to be the same color for everyone, a colleague from work who teaches the younger children made me a homemade black plasticine to use as a base, that's another reason she came home late, she was making or cooking (whatever you say) that material, so I took out 30 portions of the same size.

IMG_20220804_232724.jpg

I made several balls of this material, it was strange to work with it, it is not as flexible as plasticine, but it is much softer and not sticky, I flattened each ball and shaped it into a large coin.

IMG_20220804_232937.jpg

Then, with a cutter, I made 2 cuts on the sides of each piece of this material to introduce the wire structure.

IMG_20220804_234231.jpg

With the help of wooden sticks, blur the cuts so that they look in one piece again.

IMG_20220805_023500.jpg

Again I had to repeat everything, there are 30 figures, something curious that I realized is that 2 children asked that their “Among Us” be black, so for them to highlight their figure, I had to change the base for gray plasticine.

IMG_20220805_024806.jpg

It was already around 11:30 pm I don't remember the time very well but it was finally time to cover the figures with plasticine, I took small portions of plasticine and covered all the aluminum foil and splicing it very carefully so that it would be smooth and uniform.

IMG_20220805_031322.jpg

The ready body follows the legs, with the plasticine of the same color as the body I made a small cylinder of plasticine in the shape of a sausage, which I cut in half to get both legs out.

IMG_20220805_031440.jpg

I make a cut to each leg, along the center and with another tool I widen the upper part of each leg.

IMG_20220805_031600.jpg

Then very carefully I place each leg covering each wire, which I then join with wooden sticks so that they look like one piece.

IMG_20220805_040253.jpg

Each crew member has a backpack on his back and this is made with plasticine of the same color, with a small portion it is flattened a little and with a trowel it is given that rectangular shape, and it is adhered to the back without joining.

IMG_20220805_095537.jpg

I continued making the rest of the backpacks and surprise it's already 7:30 am, I still have to finish and I didn't sleep at all.

IMG_20220805_101411.jpg

The crew's visors are missing, for reasons of time and material I didn't make them the shadow they wear, I just took small portions of blue plasticine 30 in total and gave them an oval shape similar to a pill.

IMG_20220805_101858.jpg

Then I flattened each one of them a little, to later locate the upper front of each figure.

IMG_20220805_110255.jpg

To highlight that they are visors, take black plasticine to make some thin and very long strips, to lengthen in this way it is done by rolling the plasticine up and down many times while applying pressure, with this strip of plasticine the entire edge of the visor is covered .

IMG_20220805_112545.jpg

This part of them is simple but delicate and more when trying to splice that black part, so make sure that the part of the splice remains below.

IMG_20220805_112551.jpg

To finish with all of them, we only need to add the reflection of light from the viewfinder, to make them I used a small amount of white plasticine, which I shaped into an oval, which I crushed until it was in a very thin layer, which I placed on top of each visor and splice with small touches, especially along the edges so that it was unified.

IMG_20220805_114835.jpg

And after repeating everything 29 more times at about 11:30 am I finished all these sculptures, the first thing I did was call to let them know that the sculptures were ready, I got dressed and went out at full speed on my bicycle to deliver all these sculptures to children

Separadores para Web-01.png

It is the first time that I get into a situation like that in my work, the sculptures were delivered and very well received, in the next posts I will show you the other sculptures that I teach to make in the vacation plan, and after talking with my boss and my colleague, we managed to prevent this from happening again and it was less disastrous, because believe me it was still a disaster, although the children enjoyed it this time and that was the important thing hehe.

Thank you very much for reading my post

I hope you liked all these plasticine sculptures
