What is the Araguaney of Venezuela?
The Araguaney or Tebehuia Chrisantha was declared the National Tree of Venezuela on May 29, 1948 by the then president Rómulo Gallegos, who identified this tree with “the golden fountain of the Araguaneyes”. It is accompanied as national symbols of Venezuela by the Turpial and the Orchid.
