This week-end, my girlfriend and I are headed to Normandy, a region located in North of France, thanks to its 640 km-long coastline and 8 commercial ports facing the busiest sea in the world, it has one of the most assertive maritime features and represents a formidable gateway to France. This strategic position within north-western Europe is reinforced by the proximity of Paris and London, and is illustrated by the great international openness of its economy.
Besides being an economically viable region, it is famous for the beaches that hosted the D-Day, the likes of Omaha beach and Utah beach.
