As I love cycling I went for a long trip last Friday along the “uitwaarden” in the Dutch regio between Deventer and Doesburg.
“Uiterwaarden” is the land between de river and the dikes that are ment to be overflowing when the river cannot handle all the water.
Always impressive to see nature owns her space!
A lot of gooses are taking over the land these days.
I am not sure it is because the cows have left the swampy meadows or it is only the season. Maybe a combination.
As you can see the river increases her width, and the city is prepared for it.
