The Saman is a majestic, spectacular, noble and lush tree that has many kind characteristics as food for livestock, it also provides medicinal uses that help cure serious diseases common to man, this tree is also known as the Rain Tree for its majestic leafiness also closes its leaves when it perceives signs of rain or storm so it protects itself against natural events, and measures between 20 and 45 meters in height, its diameter reaches 3 meters and its crown is shaped like an umbrella which provides a lot of shade Anyone who approaches him, the saman has a life span between 150 and 200 years, so much so that here in Venezuela are the remains of El Saman de Guere which was the meeting point of our Liberator Simón Bolívar with his troops on their way and fighting for the independence of our country more than 200 years ago, it has been proven that this tree has medicinal properties: it is effective in attacking cancer er, swelling, sore throat, stomach pain, tuberculosis, and malaria among others. The saman has multiple uses in the manufacture of articles in wood for human use such as tables, chairs, among others, in addition the wood is semi-resistant to the attack of fungi and resistant to the attack of termites, the flowers of the saman are greenish-whitish, they present some conspicuous pink or purple stamens and arranged in terminal piquules. Generally the flowering occurs between January and April with some variations depending on the country.
