It’s a genus of aquatic plants in the arum family of Araceae. It’s the sole genus in the tribe Pistieae which usually reflects its systematic isolation within the same family. Pistia stratiotes is often called or referred to as water cabbage, water lettuce, Nile cabbage, or shellflower. It’s native to East Africa, with much populations concentrated around Lake Victoria & the River Nile. It’s free to use stock photo at will. Thank you’ll & Steem On.
