Tradescantia spathacea is commonly called Moses-in-a-basket or oyster plant which is a clump-forming evergreen perennial.
Usually white flowers in axillary cymes are enclosed by long-lasting, boat-shaped, purple bracts & colorful hence the common derived name of Moses-in-a-basket.
