Caesalpinia pulcherrima is a species of flowering plant in the pea family of Fabaceae which is native to the tropics & subtropics of the Americas.
But it’s exact origin is unknown due to widespread cultivation, it might be native to the West Indies also.
It’s quite useful that a liquid extracted from the plant flowers is often used topically as an eye wash or evenly applied to the body as an insecticide.
The liquid also is sometimes consumed to treat a variety of other health conditions.
