This Melaleuca viminalis is commonly known as weeping bottlebrush, or creek bottlebrush which is a plant in the myrtle family of Myrtaceae.
It’s endemic to the New South Wales, Queensland & Western Australia.
Its useful herb that has been used by the natives in traditional medicine for a long time to treat gastro-enteritis, diarrhea & some kind of skin infections.

What a lovely flower and also useful to humans

As an Australian I was never aware of these benefits of the plant, I simply saw it as a prickly old thing with pretty flowers. Thanks for this!
