Charlie Chaplin - A typographic portrait

Today I made a typographic portrait of the legendary actor, the comedian Mr.Chaplin.

First of all here is my art work.

Charlie Chaplin was the famous character developed by Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin, who named himself for the character and made every audiance laugh now and then. I think there is no need to introduce him to anyone because his fame is not something flows over a region or a place. I doubt if someone is alive, who is an admirer of films, without knowing this man.

So now lets come matter.

I will explain how I made this art work with minimum materials.

Materials used

Here the work I made was of black and white theme. So I used only a little tools like
Black sketch pen
Black gel ink pen
Black ball point normal pen
Pencil
And a white paper.

Now I will explain the making process.

Step.1
For creating this first I needed a basic sketch of the portrait. For making this we could use grid methode to make a good accurate portrait. But for this time I made a direct sketch using an Hb pencil on the paper.

Step.2
Now we enters to the main part. I want to fill the sketch with letters. For this I went with his name Charlie chaplin. I took the jel pen and started writing the name randomly on the places where darker shadows occures.

Step.3
For filling the shades with lettering textures more fast I used the black sketch pen and wrote randomly like before.

Step.4
Again went with gel pen and fills more places with it. I completed the almost every region were dark shades must be made.

Step.5
After filling the darker portions I moved to more lighter regions. For creating this variation effect I started lettering with normal ball point pen.

So with that final step I finished the drawing. Once again here have a clear view of the final drawing.

So that was my whole creation, I hope that was quite enjoyable And I had also took a selfie with my work and created a gif to get a quick understanding of my character design process.

Last time when I participated in a contest by @roseri I also made a digital version my creation. I believed that was okey to post in another community with different content. But then I knew it might cause feel like double posting. So here I apologise for what I did as the theme of the contest was unique.
