Making a Scrapbook | DIY Scrapbook

Scrapbooks are a way to store our memories in a beautiful way. I have decorated a scrapbook before but the book was bought from a bookshop. I have shown it in my introduction post in this community.

Today I made a scrapbook myself. It was my first time making the book.

What I used:

Craft Board
A4 boards
A4 paper
Color pens
Red ribbon
Glue
Ruler
Pair of scissors

First thing was to mark the measurements of the pages. I decided to use four measurements. This will give me 16 pages. From that, 2 pages will be front and back pages. All together 14 pages will be left to decorate.

I decided that height of my book should be 15cm and the width of a page should be 18cm.

I will show how the calculation goes. I used four craft board pieces for getting 16 pages. Each piece will have width as,

First page + folding + second page

_{Piece one: Fist page 18cm + Folding 7cm + second page 18cm. Size = 43 x 15}

In each piece, first page and second page will be 18cm width. Only the length of folding differs.

Lengths and sizes of four pieces,

Piece one folding : 7cm, Piece one full width = 18+7+18 = 43cm, Piece one size : 43 x 15

Piece two folding : 5cm, Piece two full width = 18+5+18 = 41cm, Piece two size : 41 x 15

Piece three folding : 3cm, Piece three full width = 18+3+18 = 39cm, Piece three size : 39 x 15

Piece four folding : 1cm, Piece four full width = 18+1+18 = 37cm, Piece four size : 37 x 15

After folding each piece according to the length those will look like below when they put together. We need to carefully glue all four pieces, not to move them here and there.

After that I have used two colors of A4 boards to decorate the binding area and front and back pages.

Since I have decided to make this as a birthday gift book I wrote Happy Birthday in the A4 paper and pasted it.

To make the book more cute, I have added a ribbon bow to it.

Now my scrapbook is completed. Here is how it looks at the end.
