Hello! my fellow steemians.
How are you?
I am @saisan. I am new in this fantastic community. I am astonishing seeing the lovely artworks here. Drawing is one of my favourite hobbies. I would like to share something with you as well. Though I am not a professional, I think you'll like it.
Whatever I draw but portrait drawing is my favourite. From my early age I have drawn portraits, I tried to draw portraits. I don't know yet I've succeeded or not. But I try even now though I don’t get much time for drawing or can't spare time.
Title: | Portrait of a girl in saree |
---|---|
Time spent: | 5 hours (approximately) |
Medium: | Pen, pencil,Pencil colours |
This one is the first one I drew in pencil color.
Step 1
This is the first step. If you can't draw portraits let me give you some tips so that you can draw some. Though I am not a pro but I can share my experience or how I do it. Firstly I sketched the outerlines and the shape of the subject as I measured by my eyes. You can use graphs.
Step 2
I am comfortable in pens and I hadn’t dark pencils like 6B, 8B then so I used ball point pen for drawing the parts of the the portraits. If you want to know where to start from I would say I start from the left eye then nose then lips then right eye the jawline and chin and then ears and hairs.
Step 3
You can start from whatever you like. The measurements, ratio are very important. You have to be very careful about those otherwise you portrait will look strange. Or positively it'll be a caricature
Step 4
Then you can go like this. Draw the other parts of the body.Later you can draw the finishing. It will be easier. Here I've drawn the hairs very carefully. I've drawn the flaws and shadowy parts.
Step 5
From here I used the colors. drawn the ornaments, the patterns & designs of the saree. These are the difficult parts of the drawing. Though the most hard part is to draw the face.Because It's the main part of the portrait without drawing it perfectly drawing will be meaningless.
Step 6
You have to look closely the reference picture to draw the patterns of the dress. As the designs of this cultural dress are many so it took me much more time than other drawings
Step 7
Finally its done I guesss. I've completed my first ever pencil color portrait of a lady. I've dared to try very few lady characters. And It's most beautiful of them all.
Hope you liked it. Thank you very much for reading my article & watching my art.
What a nice drawing, you are a good artist
