Hello dear friends! Welcome to my post. How are you all? I hope you will be doing well by the grace of Almighty Allah. I'm also fine and enjoying my day. Today I'm here to participate in this Steemit engagement challenge season 20 week 3 organized by @lhorgic and I'm going to share my entry in Steem4bloggers community. The topic of this challenge is about "Typography And Practical Applications". So let's start without any more delay of time.

Discuss your understanding about Typography.

Typography is a technique used to arrange the type to make the written language more appealing and legible when it is displayed on the screens. Now a days, it has a crucial role in graphics designing and in print media also. This is because, it deals with the arrangements of texts, fonts and spaces in a design to make it eye-catching and more unique. In the typography, many things are included like typefaces, fonts, hierarchy, spacing, alignment, contrast and balance etc.

While developing a design, we have to keep all these things in our minds to make that design right according to our expectations as a slight difference between them, can spoil the whole work. The typefaces are known as the text characters of a design while the fonts are refers to the variations within a typeface. The fonts can be found in different ways like bold, italic and regular fonts etc.

After that, the spacing and alignment are also a crucial part of typography as the alignments tells us about the location of texts i.e middle, left and right side etc. The spacing refers to the proper space between the text and within the whole sentence. The proper contrast and balance is also very important in a design as it deals with the proper side, color, fonts and weights of texts.

Research 3 other typeface categories not captured in this lesson. Talk about them and also give a visual representation of the typefaces.

1. Monospaced Fonts;

• Monospaced Fonts have their own visual representation which are different from others as they come with the same amount of horizontal space between them which creates a uniform grid. Due to that reasons, the monospaced Fonts are used by the programmers during the coding as it helps them to align the characters vertically.

2. Black letter Fonts:

• Black letter Fonts are also known as gothic and old English typefaces because they have a very dense letter format which you can see below in their visual representation. They have heavy weights, sharp and angular strokes which make it easier to recognize them. Usually they are used to prepare traditional and old documents in the form of graphics and in other forms as well.

3. Slab Serif;

• Slab Serif fonts are known for their thick and block like appearance and they have a unique visual representation which is different than the traditional serifs. They have heavy strokes which gives a beautiful look to the postures and other document. Mostly they are used in the headings and subheadings of postures and banners.
