Good day to you all members of this great community it is a brand new day today and I will be checking off making this wonderful post in this great community off my schedule today.
We all probably have dogs as pets at home and one of the things we regularly and on a daily basis see them do is sniffing with their nose, when you come back from the supermarket or mall and you bought fish or chicken you will see it jumping around because it has perceived the aroma of what you have in the nylon bag. Today I would like to tell you more and help you all no more about this lovely creature DOG by making this well detailed post about itssense of smell.
HOW POWERFUL IS A DOGS SENSE OF SMELL
As various research conducted and carried out by different researchers will prove that a dog can determine and tell the age, gender and even the mood of other dogs, with time and training dogs can serve as super detectives detecting the scent of illegal drugs and even explosives. Dog with their great sense of smell can help to detect missing objects from a crime scene miles away from the crime scene and even days after the initial sensing or perceiving of the scent.
Scientists have stated that the dogs sense of smell is about ten thousand to hundred thousand times more accurate than that of humans and their smell receptors is also more than that of humans on a ratio fifty to one. With this fact we see and are able to comprehend that dogs, our pets at home possesses an extraordinary sense of smell that beats and exceeds ours by far, this superior ability enables them access to crucial and current information about the environment in which they find themselves in which is why they can serve as good companions to man and be used for security purposes to help raise alarm or alert the owners on change in the calmness of the environment.
WHAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DOGS SUPERIOR OLFACTORY ABILITY.
After careful observation and research it has been made known that the following features are what provides dogs with their superior sense of smell;
*
As you all would have noticed the nose of your dogs at home is always cold and moist, the wetness of the dogs nose is one of the reason for it's superior perceiving ability, because the dog captures scent better and faster with it's nose wet.*
As I mentioned earlier a dog has fifty times the number of scent receptors possessed by humans and therefore its sensing ability is superior to that of humans by far.
*
A dogs nose possesses two airways, one is for breathing and the other is for smelling and anytime the dog sniffs air it is directed to the nasal cavity which contains scent receptors.
All these characteristics and features provides the dog with it's superior sense of smell, and you all will agree with me that this great sense of smell possessed by dogs did not just come by chance or evolution but must have a designer and creator which is God.
