Talk about my traditional food of my country

Every country has their own traditional food. The traditional food is one of the thing that distinguishe them from other country. Is a unique way that I grow up to see.

🔸What is the traditional food of your country?

We have many tribes that made up my country Nigeria. In each of this tribes, they found themselves with different types of delicious food which we are known to be the traditional food.

In my own part of tribe, Efik, we have various delicacy and fantastic food that brings togetherness in the family anytime is been prepared, Afia Efere (white soup). This particular food is the most costly and beneficial food in my country. It's give up to 95% health benefits to the body.

🔸Share the story behind why the food is traditional in your country?

Afia Efere (White soup) is normally prepared by the people of Southern region of Nigeria. While preparing the food either with the use of yam or cocoyam, you must not add oil in it. Cooking it without oil, make the food a white soup and because of not using oil to cook the food, it gives the food a nice taste.

Many families love this dish during festive season. They prepare it to welcome the family including their sons and daughters in-laws who came visiting them in the village during this time to a new year, celebrating life with good health, peace, love, unity among the family members.

Yes, am so much endeared to our traditional food. One of the memories about this dish was during my gestation period. I was so much in love with my husband, any day he cook this meal food me. You need to see how happy and joyful I used to be. My unborn baby back then, will relax and enjoy the white soup as well because he knows what is benefitting, but anytime, I eat food that the foetus didn't like, I will be throwing up as a baby.

🔸Summarize what ingredients are needed to make the traditional food.

These traditional food consist of vital nutritional ingredients that help maintain the body and give a proper growth and development. Ingredients such as cocoyam, fish, stock fish, periwinkle, meat, utazi leaf, seasoning cubes, black pepper, salt, snail.

Most of the ingredients are sea food ingredients, as such, the body benefits a lot from the food. During the process,.a smooth texture of cocoyam is achieve through pounding or blending.
