African Hero of the Day |
---|
source1938-2018
It is said that with great power comes great responsibility, our African hero is one of few Africans who used the power given to Him to make an outstanding difference he is no other person than Kofi Atta Annan (1938-2018) known as the only black African to be appointed Secretary General of UN from January 1997 to December 2006. He is originally from Ghana and was known for the many prizes he got while serving as the Secretary General. He built a foundation for mobilizing political will to overcome threats to peace and human rights. Kofi Annan died at the age of 80 and will be remembered forever especially from his famous quotes;
Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family.
To live is to choose. But to choose well, you must know who you are and what you stand for, where you want to go and why you want to get there.
Education is a human right with immense power to transform. On its foundation rest the cornerstones of freedom, democracy and sustainable human development.
Kofi Annan…
That brings us to the end of this session I’m hoping to hear from you all in the comments.
