Hope you all at good and hope you had a very beautiful day today?
In today's diary game I chose to talk about how my day went ringing from spending half of my day at the court till my other activities.
But before I jump into that, I'd also like to talk about how I had a sleepless night the day before because of the hot weather and the mosquito.
This regardless, I woke up so early and started prepping to go to court. Ideally, I was assigned to Court 1 but the Chief Judge was sick and couldn't make it to Court and this I learnt at the early hours of the morning when I arrived at the Court so, I decided to go to another court just to observed proceedings. The next Court in mind was Court 3 and on reaching there, I met another Colleague from the same law firm.
He had a case slated for continuation of hearing in the same court and he requested I appear with him so I could help him make some jottings. Meanwhile, it was already 9:30 am and the Court was supposed to have sat by 9:00 am on the dot
We spent the next 1 hour in court before the Registrar approached the Lawyers to inform us that the Judge lost a relative of his and as Muslims, the burial would be done immediately. According to him, Counsel whose Witnesses are not in Court can adjourn their cases to a later date and we do not belong to this category.
This means we have to stay still until the Judge comes back. My colleague had to Witnesses to examine with few other lawyers and leaving wasn't an option for us to exhaust.
Well, the unfortunate or fortunate thing was that by 2:00 pm on the dot, the Judge came in to inform us that he was sorry for the inconvenience he caused us, but that he wasnt emotionally fit to take up any matter. Truth is, I personally understand him and it was so okay to apologize but I wished I knew this earlier, I would have long left the court.
We left and arrived the Office few minutes later but there wasn't light anywhere and it is totally impossible to work without light so after a little waiting, we went home.
It happened to be the best experience for the day because I'd never have left the office by 3:00 pm anyway.
Getting home I rested for few minutes had my beat and headed to church.
We had our mid week service today in church and I thought I would miss it if work went as usual but luckily, it didn't so, I was here 🤗
Finally, my day ended with me making a quick dinner for the family or will I say, warming the already cooked food and serving it for dinner. It wasn't such a bad day after all, at least it ended so well
