The above photo shows how I celebrated Vesak last year.I think Buddhist people around the world celebrated Vesak more highly last year as the risk of corona virus decreased in the last few years. So I also went on a trip with my friends to see charity places. There, I and my friends traveled to Ruwanvelisaya in Anuradhapura, a holy place where the Buddhist people of our country worship very highly.
There I performed sil program with my friends and participated in a meditation program. And after that, they also participated in watching the beautiful Vesak lanterns and Vesak Thoran at night.I hope to celebrate Vesak well this year too.
Last year, there was a creative Vesak lantern competition in our area for Vesak festival and I created and presented a lantern as a team design with my friends. The above photo shows the Vesak lamp we designed. So in that competition, our design was chosen as the second place
. That is my unforgettable memory of the Vesak festival last year.
