Hello everyone, hope you are all doing great. Season's greeting and happy new year. Much thanks to @abdullahw2 for this contest and I would like to participate in it.

WHAT ARE THE SOCIAL EVILS THAT ARE SPREADING RAPIDLY IN YOUR SOCIETY

Social evils are the issues that directly or indirectly affect the citizens of a country and also are considered as a problem to the country. Some of the social evils are : child abuse,robbery,insecurity, unemployment, kidnapping, etc.

This has led to a great increase in moral decadence in the country, and as a result many Nigerian especially youth are insatiable in their desire to get rich quickly. They want to get rich quickly in their greed and love for excessive materialism

Unemployment is one of the social evils in Nigeria and it is a situation whereby a person is capable to work but are unable to find paid employment. In Nigeria unemployment is one of the greatest social evil. Many Nigerians are jobless and as such are persuaded into carrying out criminal activities so as to survive. The high rate of unemployment is alarming an this has been one of the major problem in Nigeria which has caused so many issues like insecurity, banditry etc.

Nigeria system has broken down to the level that there is no sector that can reduce the rate of unemployment and thus result in a higher level of poverty.

Another social evils affecting Nigeria is the high rate of insecurity and kidnapping. The issue of insecurity in Nigeria has become something of grave Concern to all Nigerian. Nigeria is no longer safe and the situation worsen as the day goes by. The problem is escalating and is now totally out of control. This issue of insecurity and kidnapping In Nigeria is a situation that threatens the life of citizens and should be solved immediately.

WHAT ARE THE REASONS FOR IT'S SPREAD

Most of the reason for the spread of these social evils are corruption and bad governance. Corruption leads to the spread as the effort to terminate these social evils are stopped with corruption. Government also contribute to the spread of these social evils. It is the sole responsibility of government to provide solution but due to corruption in government they shun down these social evil and go after their own interest which led to a greater spread of these social evils.

WHAT ARE IT'S EFFECT ON SOCIETY AND PEOPLE

Social evils has a negative effects on people and in the society which deteriorate the economy of Nigeria. I strongly believe that in a country or society social evils are meant to be eradicated not encouraged, that is why I feel disheartened when I see Nigeria as a country not doing anything to eradicate its spread. Social evils widely affect the society by destroying its economical development and growth, these social evils has a way of stopping development and increase the rate of corruption in the society. It can also lead to moral decadence in the society

HOW CAN THIS EVIL BE ELIMINATED FROM YOUR SOCIETY

Most of these social evils can be eliminated through government intervention. The intervention of government can help eliminate some of these problems faster. Government can provide employment opportunities for nigerians and provide better security to help stop these social evils. Most Nigerians youth engage in these social evils because they don't have anything doing and as such any means they see to make money whether it is legal or illegal they engage in it. Government can stop this by providing good employment opportunities for these youth.

Another way of eliminating these problem is through the masses. The masses should deviate from all these social evils like:corruption, stealing and cybercrime. Through this the rate at which it occurs can be reduced.
