Have you ever wondered how the information we use on how computer, website, games and applications are saved? This is technical question to ponder on, isn't it? But in recent time with the help of technical and technological advancements, the way of storing information has been made easy with the use and help the "Database"..

In this post, we will exploring together the concept of databases on the Tech Quiz Contest organized and published by @malikusman1. Ride with me !

A Database is a compilation of information that is organized in a ordered way so that it can be easily updated, managed and accessed. This is actually done using a software called Database Management System (DBMS). There are various types of databases, they include;

• Relational Databases: This is a type of database that stores data in a table format with columns and rows, and the data is related based on common values. This is one the most widely used type of database.

• Object-oriented Databases: This type of database, works by organizing data with objects or self contained units of data that have behaviors and speciality. It is obviously the best for for applications that need real world objects such as houses or cars.

• Hierarchical Databases: A hierarchical database, organizes data in the structure of tress or tree-like structures.

• Network Databases: This type of database is similar to the hierarchical database but they have more flexibility when it comes to the connection of the data(how the data is connected). The data is connected by "pointers" or "link" that can point to other data elements. It is recommended for complex data structures.

There are various reasons why databases are good and important for the storage of information. First, databases makes it easy to find and retrieve special or specific pieces of information. Without a database, finding a specific information will require you to go through your data files to retrieve it, but with a database, you can run a query to retrieve it quickly.

Second, databases are important because it helps us to keep tracks with data changes. Whenever changes are made on a data, the database helps to keep track of the changes, so as to always see the most up to date information. It is very important to be updated on changes about the stored information without giving out the wrong one when needed.

Third, databases are very important because it makes it very easy to share data between different application and users because the data stored in a central location. This simply means that everyone can have access to the the same data at the same time. Sharing of information is very necessary from one entity to another and that's why the database has a role to play.

Finally, database are very important because they help to ensure integrity of the data stored. This means that the data is accurate and consistent, and so, it is protected from being lost or corrupted. So without a database, it would be much difficult to ensure the Integrity and keep track of the data. In summary, databases are very essential and important for storing information because they make it easy to find, share, track and ensure safety/Integrity.

Databases are very critical for apps and website because they store 100% of the data that the app or website needs. The absence of a database in an app or website will result to difficulty in storage of data files, not easily accessible and lack of updated information. The use of databases, also make it possible for websites and apps to accelerate through as they grow in popularity. Without Databases, websites and apps won't be able to serve the function of which they are made for.

In Conclusion, databases are very important for many reasons which have highlighted above. They allow for fast and efficient access to data so they can be retrieved easily and scaled up to handle increased loads.
