What are the benefits of learning the English language?"

Nigeria, my country, was colonised by the British. English as one of the British colonial legacies in Nigeria was inherited from the British during the colonisation of the country. This is because they wanted a synergy between the Nigerian people and the British in terms of communication.

One would ask, was there no significant language spoken by the people before the colonisation by the British? Oh yes, before colonisation, there was no entity called Nigeria, and so, every tribe remained distinctively on its own speaking their local dialect, as the case were. It was the British who introduced the common language known as English in Nigeria and, today, English is spoken in my country as a general language and, of course, a lingua franca.

Yes, learning English is very important because English today is one of the international and widely spoken languages in the world. For effective communication around the world, it is important that we learn English to be able to communicate with others.

A good example of where English is widely used by different people is the steemit platform. You see, from every corner of the world where we're from, we try to write in English. Although there are many languages where people are allowed to post their content here. But, you can agree with me that the majority of people here make their posts using English. So, English is important for

Yes, I have learnt English. I was a little girl who had just left my little village for a city. In the city and the school I attended, almost everyone could speak and understand English. I found out I was one of the few people, if not only me, who could not understand or speak English. That was the reason why I needed to learn English, which I actually did and I'm very much fluent with it.

Though attending mastery, English changes every day, especially the aspect of the sounds. I am a teacher. My school organise what they call diction training for the teachers in order for them to master the right pronunciation of words. With the training, I'm getting better and better at pronunciation.

Like I mentioned, my school organises training for teachers. That is to say that we learn in a group. Apart from that, there are times I do my personal learning, especially in the area of vocabulary. I try to check the meaning of words and also to improve my vocabulary too.

Learning English is important because it is one of the widely spoken language in the world today. Though it may be tasking, enthusiasm and commitment to learning will be a great encouragement to effective learning. It is left for you to choose the pattern that suits you if you want to learn in a group or personally.
