What would be the main theme of your holiday? (i.e, environmental, kindness, awareness, celebration, etc.)

The environment would be the theme of my new holiday if I could create one. The purpose of this day which is being called Earth Care Day is to inspire people to engage in green activities. By recycling and reusing things people can cut down on waste, tidy up neighborhood parks and plant trees.

Sustainable living could be taught through workshops held in neighborhoods and educational institutions. Raising awareness of environmental challenges and encouraging everyone to make little changes to support the health of our world would be the key themes.

What time of year would you choose for your holiday to take place? (i.e,Winter or Summer)

As winter is a good time to plant trees I shall chose it for Earth Care Day. New trees grow stronger and healthier when the weather is colder. During the winter we can concentrate on indoor activities such as recycling campaigns and informative seminars about energy efficiency and trash minimization.

In addition working outside is more comfortable in the winter than it is in the summer. When the temperature gets cooler people are more likely to take part in environmental efforts like local clean ups. In order to promote sustainable living over the holiday season winter activities may also include creating eco friendly holiday decorations and gifts.

Which activities would you include at that holiday related to fun or traditions? (i.e, art related, feasts, games, etc.)

I would apply traditional and enjoyable activities for Earth Care Day such as nature art projects in which families use natural materials to create artwork fun and games. We could host healthy and homemade feasts that are environmentally beneficial. In order to teach children about plants and wildlife parks would host activities similar to treasure hunts.

People may gather around common fires to sing songs and tell stories about the natural world. In addition to encouraging sustainable living and environmental awareness these events add fun to the holiday.
